A busy route through a Derbyshire town was shut by police this morning after a crash.

Shortly after 7.00am, Derbyshire Police confirmed that the B5023 Derby Road in Wirksworth was closed between Summer Lane and Willowbath Lane due to a collision.

A force spokesperson said: “It is likely to remain closed for some time.
