Police are appealing for help after a dog allegedly bit a woman as she jogged along a Derbyshire village street.

At around 4.15pm on Saturday, April 18, a 52-year-old woman was jogging along St John’s Road, Smalley, near Ilkeston, when she saw a dog off the lead.

The woman says the dog ran up to her and bit her to the back of the leg, puncturing the skin and causing a large amount of bruising.

She has described the dog as a dark miniature poodle with some grey in its fur.

It was being walked by two people – a slim white man with long grey hair and a white woman of medium build with blonde bobbed hair.
