Police investigate several reports of criminals stealing from Derbyshire residents while collecting goods sold online

Police are investigating a number of incidents in which offenders have stolen jewellery from Derbyshire residents after meeting to collect items bought from online marketplaces.

The latest incident happened on Bailey Brook Drive, Langley Mill at around 6.40pm on Wednesday, October 12.

A woman was meeting a man who had agreed to buy a gold chain she had placed for sale on an online marketplace, but instead of paying, he allegedly snatched the jewellery from her and ran off.

The man is described as being white, with short brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a black tracksuit.

Two similar incidents have also been reported, and officers are considering the possibility that they may be linked.

These other offences took place in same area and jewellery was stolen on both occasions. They occurred at around 1.00pm on Monday, September 26 and 8.40pm on Tuesday, October 4.
