Chesterfield midfielder wins club's Player of the Year award

The midfielder who also took home the Players’ Player of the Year award.

He has played an instrumental part in the Spireites winning the National League title and promotion to the Football League.

The 32-year-old has scored 13 goals and got six assists, which statistically is his best-ever season, in 47 appearances in all competitions.

As well as his goal contributions, he has led by example on and off the pitch and he became a fan favourite right from the beginning.

Naylor was a marquee signing last summer, joining from Wigan Athletic, who he had been playing for in the Championship.

As well as controlling games on the pitch, Naylor has impressed everyone with his attitude and professionalism off it.

Naylor posted on social media: “Very grateful for receiving my two awards last night. Thank you to everyone who voted. A huge congratulations to everyone on their awards. It’s been an outstanding season for everyone.”

Meanwhile, Ollie Banks’ wonderful long-range strike against Bromley was voted the Goal of the Season.

Jamie Grimes was named the Community Trust Player of the Year and Ali Mohiuddin the Academy Player of the Year.

The awards were handed out on Thursday night at the SMH Group Stadium.
